The rapid convergence of sensing, communication and computing on single platforms such as smartphones, connected watches and wearables has created unprecedented opportunities for monitoring large scale systems. In particular, cyberphysical systems, which integrate coupled physical and computational processes have greatly benefited from this trend over the last decade. Applications of this new sensing paradigm has great breakthrough potential on mobility in smart cities, management of large scale infrastructure (water, energy), and connected health.
